Synthesis, structural characterization, and application of N-doped TiO2 photocatalyst under visible-light irradiation

    Get PDF
N-doped TiO2 nanomaterials were prepared with the sol-gel method. The structure and properties of the materials were characterized by using XRD, UV-Vis, SEM, EDX, and IR techniques. The optimal dose of ammonium chloride for doping is 600 mg. The optical absorption edge of N-TiO2 displays a redshift, and a long tail occurs in the presence of nitrogen in the material. Thereby, N-TiO2 may exhibit improved absorption properties under visible light and the solar irradiation. The photocatalytic activity was investigated on the degradation of rhodamine B. The optimal amount of the photocatalyst is 1.8 g/L under visible light

When teaching a large class of students, the teacher's biggest concern is which method to use to partially satisfy the learning needs of the majority of students. Each class has its unique characteristics, different learning needs, and the same level of students between classes at Tan Trao University. Some methods work well for one class, but not for another. This concern becomes much greater when the level of the student and the level of the curriculum has quite a big difference. Teachers often have to add the function of "curriculum designer" for a particular class. In addition to teaching according to the school's general curriculum, teachers must prepare more types of exercises and support activities to help students become more interested in learning and learn English more effectively. In this research paper, the writer of this article would like to mention some solutions that I have applied to students of Kindergarten Class C K8 and their feedback on my solution

National audienceThe domain of image retrieval is still an open problem in comparison with the results obtained in the domain of text retrieval. The problem of semantic image retrieval is even more difficult and open. In this article, we propose a new technique of image retrieval enabling, by interaction with the user, to extract fast and easily his/her objective. Here we propose a 2D graphic interface adapted to the problem of image retrieval and enabling a bidirectional communication: from the system towards the user to visualize the current research results and from the user towards the system so that the user can provide some relevance feedback information to refine his/her query. Relevance feedback is only in the form of validation of result images (or positive examples). This approach has been implemented and tested on an image database of 1000 images. The results are promising. A comparison with a traditional interface is shown

Purpose: The primary objective of the research was to investigate the correlation between the utilization of cost information and business performance of enterprises in Vietnam, particularly in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.   Design/methodology/approach: A survey was conducted, involving a sample of 380 participants consisting of CEOs, CFOs, managers, board of directors, and individuals in charge of accounting and finance departments. The study employed a structure equation model to analyze the relationship between the use of cost information and business performance.   Findings: The study revealed a significant and positive impact of cost information utilization on business performance among the surveyed enterprises in Vietnam. Additionally, the study provided recommendations for enterprises in Vietnam on how to make use of cost information for various purposes, including planning, evaluating, decision-making, and cost control, to optimize their business performance.   Research, Practical & Social implication: The study's results suggest that utilizing cost information effectively can lead to improved business performance and may provide valuable insights for Vietnamese enterprises on how to navigate the challenging and competitive post-Covid-19 economic environment.   Originality/value: The research employed a structural equation modeling (SEM) approach, and a test for univariate normality demonstrated an outstanding critical skewness ratio value. Furthermore, the kurtosis indicated that the data followed a normal distribution, making it suitable for analysis. Since SEM employs rigorous criteria to evaluate model fit, it can be inferred that the measurement model exhibited a high level of fit. The findings affirm the beneficial impact of utilizing cost information on business performance and offer significant recommendations for Vietnamese businesses in the current post-COVID era

Any mobility aid for the visually impaired people should be able to accurately detect and warn about nearly obstacles. In this paper, we present a method for support system to detect obstacle in indoor environment based on Kinect sensor and 3D-image processing. Color-Depth data of the scene in front of the user is collected using the Kinect with the support of the standard framework for 3D sensing OpenNI and processed by PCL library to extract accurate 3D information of the obstacles. The experiments have been performed with the dataset in multiple indoor scenarios and in different lighting conditions. Results showed that our system is able to accurately detect the four types of obstacle: walls, doors, stairs, and a residual class that covers loose obstacles on the floor. Precisely, walls and loose obstacles on the floor are detected in practically all cases, whereas doors are detected in 90.69% out of 43 positive image samples. For the step detection, we have correctly detected the upstairs in 97.33% out of 75 positive images while the correct rate of downstairs detection is lower with 89.47% from 38 positive images. Our method further allows the computation of the distance between the user and the obstacles

    Get PDF
Students can learn   in   a   meaningful way through the use of educational games. When students apply their skills and information in order to progress through a game, a huge degree of engagement is generated among them in the classroom as a result both their capabilities and their learning   increase. 153 children from primary schools in Vietnam participated in this research. The children were split into two groups: an experimental and a control group. Both groups participated in two sessions of word and sentence practice as well as spelling instruction. According to the findings of the study, the educational outcomes of the students are greatly improved when games are used in their classrooms. In addition, research has shown that some teachers are against the use of games in the classroom since it makes it more difficult to prepare educational materials. Some educators believe that playing educational games is a more effective method of instruction as it allows for greater flexibility during the learning process. This makes a contribution to the theoretical framework that is necessary to guide educators and instructors in the process of improving learning game programs for children in primary schools and other learners

Salmonella and E.coli possess different surface protein structures that can induce protective immune responses. Identification of these proteins capacitates development of diverse applications in prevention and diagnosis that contribute to effectively control disease-causing enterobacteria pathogens such as Salmonella and E.coli. A simple procedure for obtaining protein complexes of Salmonella serotypes and E.coli is performed in this study. A sonication process with heat treatment of whole bacteria induced the release of protein complexes. Concentration of the protein extract was quantified using protein quantification Kits-Rapid, and protein complex profile was obtained by SDS-PAGE (Sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis) and silver staining. The concentrations of protein ranged from 29.45 to 45.35 µg/mL in the  Salmonella protein extracts, and from 25.35 to 36.72 µg/mL in the E.coli protein extracts. Six major groups of proteins from E. coli (YfiO, NipB, OmpF, YfgL, Talc, YaeT) and four major groups of proteins from Salmonella (Flagellin, OmpA, Porin, SEF21) were preliminarily determined by a simple procedure of extraction based on the molecular weight
